Resolution of iMac mid 2010 in Target Display Mode

I want to connect my MacBook Air 2015 to my iMac 27" mid 2010.

What will the resolution be of the iMac screen when it is in Target Display Mode?

A Thunderbolt cable won't work, even though the plugs will fit. The mid 2010 iMac uses Mini DisplayPort.

You need a Mini DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort cable, such as:

I bought a mini DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort cable, logged into my MacBook and iMac, then connected them with the mDP cable.

I didn't even have have to press CMD-F2, the iMac immediately displayed the MacBook screen.

Resolution indeed is 2560 x 1440.

And the iMac also displays my Dell's screen when I use a DisplayPort to mini DispalyPort cable :-).
