passcode recovery

Hi there,

Hope everyone is doing fine. I forgot my mini ipad2 passcode. Following steps to restore my device to manufacture settings. The iTunes app in my laptop said the restoration failed because it can't access to my device, and it asks to make sure enter the passcode!!!! I'm going through this whole process because I forgot my passcode in the beginning.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
