Epson Printer constantly shows offline

I have an Epson EcoTank printer that I am constantly having issues connecting to via my 2015 MacBook Pro. I check the internet connection status on the printer itself and it always says it is connected. I have...

-Removed/Re-added the printer from my MacBook Pro

-Reset the printing system

-Uninstalled/Reinstalled the printer drivers etc, they ARE up to date.

-Verified multiple times the printer IS on my network both via my WiFi router settings and at the printer.

-Printed Network status sheet directly from printer and it tells me my connection is EXCELLENT every time.

-Restarted both MacBook and Printer multiple times

-Reset printer to default settings and set back up

-Searched and searched the internet for answers with no luck!

I had the same problems with a previous Canon printer.

The one Windows computer in my home prints with NO issues.

Can there be something I am missing in the set up?

When I am adding it I use the 1st option listed below that says Bonjour Multifunction

Should I be using the TCP IP option instead?

I am running Catalina 10.15.3

MacBook Pro 15", macOS 10.13

Hello KTBaby and welcome to Apple Support Communities.

I see you are having some difficulty with connecting to an Epson printer.

macOS 10.15 Catalina Support | s0 | Epson US

It appears from searching Epson's site, that the most current driver for that printer was actually released about a month before Catalina was released to the public so it may not actually be compatible.

A couple of things you can try.

1) Do a direct USB connection to the Mac. If other users on the network need to use the printer, try going to System Preferences > Sharing on the Mac and enabling Printer Sharing. That would allow the printer to be shared via the Mac and bypass the Epson network connection which seems to be the issue here.

2) Some users have reported success using the open-source printer drivers at Gutenprint. (Gutenprint for Mac OS X)
