Books won’t hide audiobooks

I have some audiobooks that I can’t delete or hide from my library in Books. Every time I try to hide them it does nothing. Going to the three dot menu of an audiobook in my Library shows a “Remove” option. When I click this it asks me to confirm “Hide Audiobook.” I confirm this and it does nothing. Clicking the “Edit” menu on the top right and selecting each audiobook, then clicking the trash can, gives me the same “Hide Audiobooks” dialog. I don’t actually want to hide them, I want them to go away forever, but I will settle for hiding them. Thanks for your help

This method is slightly different. It’s hiding the book in the cloud by signing in to your account in the Book Store, not from your library.

Sign in to your account, navigate to the audiobook to be hidden, tap listen, tap ..., tap remove and hide.

If there is nothing in hidden purchases there is nothing to manage.

I found this:

You can also hide books in the Books app on a Mac. Click Book Store, click Featured, click Purchased in the Quick Links on the right, then click All. Hover your pointer over a book and click the Hide purchase button that appears.

Try this: delete the book from your device. Sign in to your account, navigate to the audiobook to be hidden, tap listen, tap ..., tap remove and hide.

The only other thing I suggest is trying to hide them in Books on your Mac.

I believe you. If they aren’t showing in purchases in Books on your Mac navigate to the iTunes Store and see if your purchases show up there.

okay, I am not sure I’m following you because this does nothing when I try it. I open the Books app, select one of the audiobooks I want to delete, and start listening. While it’s playing, I select the “...” menu and choose Remove, then Hide. This does nothing and the audiobook is still there in my library. What am I missing?
