Safari 13.1 "A problem repeatedly occurred"

After updating Safari, some websites work, but some that I need re-load a few times and then I get a grey screen and the error "a problem repeatedly occurred with (the website name)"

Some of them I need professionally - such as shutterstock.

My son was trying to watch wildlife videos yesterday on a news website and the same error occurred.

Any ideas? Also is contacting Apple support for something like this complementary? Or will they charge? I no longer have active apple care

I'm using High Sierra 10.13.6 on a 27" 2012 iMac

Many thanks

Let’s hope so! I’ve found Firefox and Chrome don’t have issues - if like me you’d rather not reinstall the OS right now, which was suggested by others.

Im hoping Apple will release an update soon to solve the issues.

On a different thread someone suggested turning off Java Script - the websites then do load but then the functionality is lost!

thanks, have just got off a support call with apple and they tried a few diagnostic things, including creating a new user to see if that also had the problem and loading in safe mode and retrying, problem still occurred in all cases. finally advised backing up and reloading the o/s. I ran a security update today and the problem only occurred after that so I am a little suspicious of that and the more people that post the same error the more I am inclined to think to was that?

I agree Apple need to fix this ASAP as it seems to be effecting many users on many OS versions. (not just High Sierra)

In the end I downloaded Google Chrome. It works fine on all websites. I decided not to mess around with the OS at this time - as all my other software works fine. Being in lockdown i can’t risk something else then having a problem. But Apple should ensure its own software works if it doesn’t want everyone to switch to Chrome permanently! 🙄
