Safari Upgrade causes problems with many websites

After I posted the installer-link for the reinstall, all websites were retrieved without errors. It mitigates the mentioned symptoms (after today only) of 99% of visited websites with Safari 13.1 on High Sierra. I can't believe it: The only site that hasn't worked for me so far (date 16.04.2020):

Safari 13.1 on Catalina and Chrome in general works fine. :-/

1. Startup in Safe Mode:    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

    Login to your account.

    Launch Safari and test.

    To exit Safe Mode, click  in the menu bar and choose “Restart”.

Rollback could be difficult, but you can try it.

All i did was download and run this installer with out reboot or anything and cnn.com doesn't exploded every time i open it . Fixed my problem.

Meanwhile the link on page 2 is deprecated for 13.05 due to the new safari version 13.1:

But keep in mind some Mojave users could not solve the problem by reinstalling Safari.

Not sure if that helps. I haven't encountered these issuess in 99% of the websites I visit since the reinstall of Safari 13.1. This was happening to me.. it could be due to the fact that you have

High Sierra v. 10.13.6,

Safari v. Version 11.1.2 (13605.3.8) and this

Security Update ... Installed... and it causes a problem.

Try Rebooting and holding 'Command+r' use that to install your operating system again (DONT USE OPTION ERASE DISK FIRST). Then when you open the App Store, make sure your Preferences page is set to not automatically install Security Updates...

I would be very cautious about downloading a Safari installation package from any non-Apple website. The downloads sometimes contain adware/malware. If you want to download from a non-Apple website, I suggest you do a backup, preferable 2 separate ones on 2 drives before downloading. That gives you a way to recover, should it be necessary.

I was having this same issue, since updating Safari yesterday! I tried everything to get it resolved and spent ages online to Apple support chat! Just downloaded and reinstalled and this has fixed the issue!
