MacBook Pro hot

Hello everyone, I have a MacBook Pro from 2018 with an i5 2.3Ghz. Sometimes while playing some video games the CPU reaches temperature up to 90degrees celcius. Is there any way to keep it at a cooler level? thanks

Nothing beyond the common suggestion—

Having good ventilation— ie on a hard surface compare to a bed/pillow/lap

Plugged into the mains

If necessary thermal management—Try resetting the SMC https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295

Internal display have the option run on the Integrated graphics, which typically run cooler.

>System Preferences>Energy Saver

External display however demand the Discrete graphics processor — and the Discrete GPU draws more power.

There have been numerous complaints the discrete graphics processor drawing large amounts of power, however Apple has provided no work-arounds or associated documentation.

Always connect to AC-power with an external display on MacBook Pro.
