Cannot use Apple TV with 2 step authenitification code

We tried the add the code to your password work around but that didn't work, and now want to know how to turn off the 2 step process, but this appears to be impossible too. With COVID -19 it would be ideal to be able to watch movies but we can't!!

You are likely using the 2 factory authentication incorrectly. However without knowing which Apple TV you own it's a little tough to help you. On my Apple TV 3 the steps were like this:


  • When you launch Apple TV it will ask for your Apple ID and Password.
  • You will get your code via your iPhone or iPad.
  • Re-start Apple TV and it will ask for your password again. Next enter your password followed by the code you received on your iPhone or iPad.
