Brand new iPad 7th gen out the box and it is so slow

I have a brand new iPad 7th gen out the box and it is so slow it’s painful.

best part of 10 mins to down load A app from the App Store, any ideas?

A number of possible issues exist:

  • poor WiFi Connection
  • poor broadband/internet speed
  • heavily loaded regional App Store servers (a lot of people are confined to their homes)


A forced-restart of your iPad may help:


  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On an iPad with Face ID: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.




Similarly, restarting your Home Router may improve matters.


To restart your router, disconnect power from the router, wait 30 seconds, then restart. After your router finishes it reboot (this may take many minutes), restart your iPad.


If these steps don’t help, we can look deeper.
