I have found the fix driver solution for canon pixma printer G2010, go for G2000 driver and install "Gutenprint" that you can easily search on google, all errors can be fixed. I was excited from the start of the day when I received the printer, and sat tight to find a solution until evening. Let's Fix together !!! "Gutenprint" please download "Gutenprint"

Hi there, chamnanp2020.

I see that you'd like some help setting up your Canon Pixma G2010 printer on your Mac using macOS Catalina, and I'm glad to help with this.

Add a printer on Mac -- This article provides the information and steps that you need to add a printer on your Mac.

Canon : Manuals : G2010 : Setup - macOS -- Also, review the additional information from Canon to set up your printer.

Take care.

You Have Installed Malware - All is Not Acting as it Should:

Rid of this printer install. Only download drivers from the manufacturer. Getting it elsewhere, you may end up with malware and spyware installed. Both items or which make your Mac act in a mislead manor (which has reportedly become the case here). Once the printer is uninstalled, scan your Mac for malware.

Scan your Mac for Malware:

Use MalwareBytes for Mac --- This is software that searches for malware/adware. So, scan with it and then remove what is found. Once removed, uninstall MalwareBytes for Mac. Then restart the Mac.

Downloads:

  1. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac
  2. Malwarebytes uninstaller

Use this on a Windows Virtual Machine:

If you have a desire to use this printer on your Mac, sure you can. Just use Windows. You would just use a Virtual Machine, and then print off of that, when desired. Virtual Machine Programs are VMWare Fusion and Parallels. Basically, it is Windows-in-a-window.

Purchase the Software or the Printer?:

FWIW, if a new printer and its ink sum up to be much less in price than the software, then I’d say just get a new printer.

The only drivers that Canon shows for the PIXMA G2010 are for various Windows versions. Canon does not make Mac drivers for this apparently Windows-only printer. There is no native support to be found in Apple's AirPrint either. There is no support for the PIXMA G2010 in Gutenprint.

You cannot use this printer with Catalina. Use a different printer that is currently supported by its vendor for use with macOS Catalina, or that is supported in Apple's AirPrint list of printers.
