Text appearing at top of screen when I type

Hi,

When typing on my laptop, text will appear at the top of the screen as well as in the box I am typing in. I think it is to do with something called "font book" as that sometimes opens itself up when it happens. In screenshot as an example I have first searched "translate" and then started typing into the google translate dialogue box and the text appears at the top. It does not disappear if I delete it from the translate box. I can click on the circled text and delete (clicking on the circled text does not take me out of google chrome)

Does anyone know what is going on?
