Receiving a ghost call from a contact and that contact saying they received a call from me?

My iphone 8 will get a call from someone in my contacts and they are not actually phoning me. When I ask them why they phoned they say that I phoned them? call history confirmed that both of us had missed calls from each other without even touching our phones. My wife’s phone is doing the same thing now
