apple music not playing on TV

I am a paid up member of Apple Music and for the past 3 days no songs will play on my TV. I am able to play and listen to videos; however, songs will not play. The little vertical sound level bars are moving but no sound is hear and the time bar at the bottom of each song never moves. Any suggested solution?

Thanks for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. I understand that Apple Music on your Apple TV isn't playing properly and you're seeing that the time bar is moving, but no sound can be heard. I know it's important to be able to utilize your Apple Music subscription on all of your devices; I'd like to help. I recommend that you start with these steps:


"Force quit the app, then open it again


  • Apple TV: Double press the TV/Home button and swipe left or right to find the app with the issue. Then swipe up to close the app. You can’t force apps to quit on Apple TV (3rd generation).


Restart your device

Restart your iPhoneiPadiPod touchApple Watch, or Apple TV. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.

 

Check for updates

Make sure that your device has the latest version of iOS or iPadOSwatchOS, or tvOS. Then check for app updates.


  • Apple TV: Go to Settings > Apps and turn on Automatically Update Apps. If you don't have automatic updates turned on, you can open the App Store, go to the Purchased tab, and open an app's product page to see if an update is available."


If an app unexpectedly quits, stops responding, or won’t open


Try again to play music on your Apple TV and let me know what you find.
