Macbook will not charge??

Recently my macbook would be charging and the battery would decrease, I would let my macbook rest a couple hours and then try again, and the mac would charge very slow and sometimes still decrease its battery. recently i bought a new charger as i thought it was a battery problem, it was not and still to this day the macbook does not charge. Still shows up the need charge symbol once opened though. someone know how to fix this? i can’t go to a genius bar since everything is closed :(
