Plugged into iMac, storage maximum, endless boot loop

Hello,

I have an iPhone XS Max. Randomly, I wanted to charge my phone. I am working from home so I decided to plug it into my iMac. After a bit I noticed that my phone was showing a notification to the effect of "iPhone can't backup or storage is full" not certain since I wasn't trying to back it up and to my knowledge the iPhone wasn't near memory capacity.

No apps would open. In settings, trying to get storage under control, it would not let me delete things like podcasts, apps, couldn't get into pictures to delete. Tried to reboot because it was freezing.

Now it is in an endless boot loop. Tried several times to force restart (volume up, volume down, hold side button until apple appears.

It's currently charging. When the issues started it was at 70%+ battery charge.

For good measure, after being on the charger for 10+ minutes, I have tried again. No luck. Still looping.

Awesome.

Try entering recovery mode:

press vol up then vol down and then press and hold the power/side button till the phone shuts off. Keep holding even if you see the Apple logo, and release when you see the connect to iTunes/computer logo. Then plug your iPhone to your iMac and select update iPhone. If it fails unfortunately you may have to restore your iPhone.
