so i had the add that i would get free apple tv for a year and now it says only for a week?

Verify that you qualify for the offer.

Verify that you tried to redeem in time (before the three months are over).

Verify that you did as described in the guide. Get Apple TV+ free for one year - Apple

If you did that and you still do not get to see the year offer, then contact Apple Support. They can assist in getting you the service, if needed using activation codes.
