view two albums at once?

I am going through a few dozen albums to create an album of photos to go into a book and I would like to view the 'book album" while I go through the 'source' albums and add them to the "source album".

It seems once cannot make two windows at once in Photos on Mojave. Is some cheap or free software that will allow me to view the "book album" preview contents as I go through the source albums adding individual photos?

Alternatively, another thing that would work for me would be if I could get info on an individual photo and see which albums it belongs to....

You can create few albums with different names https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/photos/pht6d60a1f1/mac

And create a folder https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/photos/pht211de0d6/5.0/mac/10.15

named " Book " and drag and drop those albums over the folder to get merged .

To view them open the " Book " folder and double click over an individual album the photos inside it will open , but what you expect to open all albums using a single stroke and open all albums and their photos is not possible , the next query photo belongs to which album , you can only add keywords to that particular photo .

Another possible workflow would be to assign a keyword, "book", to those you think you might want in the book. When you're ready to add to the book create a smart album with the criteria "Keyword is book". Then you can view them together and drag to the book as desired.

I use the Keyword pane, ⌘+P, to add and remove keywords from images. Much quicker and easier than the Info pane.

As tygb has already suggested tell Apple what missing features you'd like restored or new features added in Photos via Feedback - Photos - Apple

Thanks, I think that would work for me, since I don't have many keywords attached I can quickly tell which have been tagged by the little label icon in the upper-right of each preview. Also, it is nice that once the keyword manager is open I can tag photos with a shortcut key.

I did send Apple feedback that it would be nice to see which albums a partcular photo belongs to.

(I accidently marked my reply as "Solved" instead of your answer, cannot see how to remove it.)
