How do I transfer songs from my backup harddrive to ipod touch 6th generation, which I have just had to restore due to a problem? I have consequently lost all my downloaded music but have it on hard drive backup. Need a very simple step by step guide please.

I would connect the hard drive to computer - then copy and paste the songs to your my music folder on your laptop.
Once that is done - open iTunes - File - add file to library - and navigate to the music folder - highlight all the songs and then click add.

You need to download itunes, add the music to your itunes library and then sync Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod using your computer - Apple Support

I have all the music backed up on a separate hard drive. Do I connect both this and ipod to laptop then go into Itunes(already on laptop) . Then what do I do? I am a senior citizen and not very good with technology. My son cant help as he is self isolating with pregnant wife.
I have more than 250 CDs on hard drive so its alot of songs. It sounds as though its going to be a laborious and long task. Is there a quicker way?
