I want to add a DVD player device onto my iMac but I have forgotten my admin password for the iMac how can I reset the admin password?
Need to either recover my iMac admin password or change it

You do not need an Admin password to connect an optical drive to the computer unless you must also install special device drivers for it. Change or reset the password of a macOS user account - Apple Support.
