Unable to close Trash Finder window

Recently I was emptying my Trash and a small Finder Window

will not close. It doesn't change (it's been at least a week) and the small "x" to the right of the blue line doesn't close the window either. If I click on Trash and Open it, it appears empty. But if the 25,317 Items that show in the above Finder Window are still on the external drive then it is taking up space on the external drive it was deleted from...I think.

Any idea on how I can close out this window since there isn't a red X in the top left corner of the window?

Thanks

Andy

Try forcing Finder to relaunch. While holding the Option key, control-click (right click) on the Finder in the Dock and click Relaunch.
