Can't find MacPerformance malware

Hi all,

I finally decided to install EtreCheck to check if everything was ok with my Macbook Pro.

Unfortunately i found 3 "Major Issues":

-adwares (already removed following the instructions)

-unsigned files

-Runaway process

The third point is getting tricky.

This is the report I get:

It seems that I'm having troubles with MacPerformance (now I know it's a malware)...but...I can't find it anywhere (not in the Application list or in my broswer extensions).

Am I missing something?

Thank you in advance for your help,

Greta

Verify you are using the latest updated version of etrecheck. Typically it has a remove option.

You can download directly from the developer, this trusted utility https://etrecheck.com

Not familiar with the UpdateMac folder—

From Finder>Go >Go To Folder copy and paste:

~/Library/UpdateMac

and look for the "MacPerformance" to delete
