Camera Not Recognized on MacBook Air, Mid-2013

The camera stopped working on my MacBook Air, Mid-2013 model. I get a "camera is not connected" message. I tried some of the solutions found in an Internet search. A friend recommended a "firmware" update. But, when I search on support.apple.com, there are so many-I'm not sure which to use! Looking for guidance on the correct update to use, and if this is the right solution. Thank you.

Hello Patikns,

I understand that you're getting a message on your Mac that the camera is not connected. I am happy to work with you to get this resolved.

Let's try an SMC reset.

You may also want to try an NVRAM reset.

If you're still experiencing the issue after performing the above tasks, then let's try Safe Mode.

Keep me in the loop on your progress.

Have a great day!
