All Videos sending as movies

When my mother send videos from her iPhone to mine they are extremely poor quality and say they are movies. When you watch them on her phone they are totally normal but once she sends them they are awful. What is happening?

Videos whiten on playback in messages When I get family videos sent from an Iphone 13 Pro Max via Messages to my Iphone 7 Plus, the videos appear normal in the message until I try to play them when the images get very white. The videos seem normal in the progress bar at the bottom of the screen, but are very white and not viewable on playback. Software on both iphones is current.

Tiny videos in text messages on some but not other devices On my iPhone 12 pro I sent a video to three other people, two with iPhones and one an android, which as I understand it means the text message goes through as an SMS message. The android received my video just fine but the two iPhones received tiny thumbnails that were poor quality video. Why would this be? All devices are up-to-date with the latest software.
