Water on keyboard

What to do after water gets in keyboard. Already tried the SMC and pram resets. Help!

Let the water dry up (it can take lots of time to evaporate), then try again. Even if it powers on most likely you will encounter a failure weeks from now once corrosion sets in.


Take the laptop to an Apple Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider to be examined if they are open in your region.

You may be able to start a repair order online and have Apple send

a return box, to ship it back for repair. Contact Apple to see details.


Ask for estimate. Although the numbers may vary; water damages

can be costly. ~ Sometimes it can make better sense to replace Mac

with refurbished or guaranteed repair; should numbers not add up.
