iPad muted for games

I have ios13. At some point games became muted.

All solutions I can find online are years old.

I have no physical mute button, and cannot pull up a start menu to select the mute, I cannot select the scroll for screen lock.

i can play YouTube music, I have made sure my sound is on, I have made sure app’s sound Is up.
