I have an iPhone 8 . When I go on caller ID I can’t turn on or off as it shows the spinning wheel .

I had this problem too and I tried everything and nothing worked. I “chatted” online to an Apple person who very obligingly worked with me to troubleshoot a solution. We again tried everything: resets, airplane mode etc etc. then, he suggested I try another sim in the phone to see if it would work. I used my partner’s sim and it worked. The wheel stopped spinning and the toggle switch for turning in my Caller ID worked. Replacing the original SIM card showed the spinning wheel. The online Apple person concluded that the problem was the sim - or putting it another way- it was something my carrier needed to fix. So I immediately went to the carrier’s retail store at the local shopping centre. The customer assistant said it was just a matter of going into their app (which I had on my phone) and changing it there. Bingo! I now have my Caller ID toggle switch back in Settings on my phone and it is working perfectly.
Why does a spinning wheel appear when I go into Show My Caller ID therefore not letting me access this?
My iPhone 8 is stuck with the spinning, thinking wheel when I try to change my caller ID? Can anyone help, as to how to change it or stop it from doing this, please? xx
Never found a solution . Sometimes works sometimes doesn’t .

I have the same problem with my IPhone 12pro Max. I have tried turning the phone off then on, tried turning wifi off, tried turning wifi, wifi calling, Bluetooth all off, tried aeroplane mode, still I get the spinning wheel.
nothing fixes it and my phone is stuck on no caller ID which is frustrating as most people don’t answer no caller ID (I personally don’t) or they have it blocked.
very frustrated...
I honestly don’t see why I should have to contact my service provider considering that I was able to turn it on and off previously, it just suddenly decided to not work.
id understand if I’d never touched it before, and got the phone from the provider but I have been able to change it previously no problem.
I hate having to contact companies over silly things that should just work, but I guess it’s my only remaining option.

Hey mate you are an absolute legend mine was already off so i turned it on then off and it worked straight away i tried everything from deleting and resetting the phone to everything else.

You’ll have to wait for a moment for it to load. It will contact the carrier and make sure the option is available in your carrier plan, and then show accordingly.
If you contact your phone carrier they usually have a keypad code to turn this on and off quickly. Ie #30# dual to turn on and #30* dial to turn off. I got sick of spinning wheel too.
