(null), phone getting hacked?

Recently I got a update/install pop up that said, “download “(null)” using cellular data” and I pressed cancel because I didn’t know what (null) meant and im curious if it’s anything bad or an app that hasn’t been updated for awhile and since then it hasn’t popped up and I pressed every app that needed an update and none of them have said (null).

Any help is appreciated and I just want to know if it’s anything I have to worry about or no, thank you to anyone in advance who responds and helps me make sense of this. And this popped up on an iPhone 7

iPhone 7, iOS 13

Hello Austinmart,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! I see you have a question about a pop-up which appeared while you were downloading an update.

Without knowing which apps were updating, or seeing the error that appeared, it's hard to say exactly what caused the issue. From what you've described it sounds like (null) replaced another word in the pop-up. (Null) is often used to represent a value or term which is missing when a computer code is executed. With the pop-up not reoccurring, it sounds like it may have been an isolated incident.

When updating your apps and your iOS, it's always best to be connected to a Wi-Fi network: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

All the best!
