MacBook Pro not charging through USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter

I have a MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016) with two 24" monitors and other accessories plugged into their four USB C ports.

If I connect the power adaptor through the Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter, I cannot charge the notebook battery.

The only way to charge the battery is by connecting the Power Adaptor directly to one of the USB C ports.

Any suggestions on what I need to do in order to be able to charge the notebook through the USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter.

Hi,

Product Information says "You can also connect a charging cable to the USB-C port to charge your Mac or iPad Pro."

It should be able to charge your MacBook Pro with charging cable.

Resetting SMC could solve the issue.
