A pop-up window with this message is on my mac screen.

“SearchExploreDaemon” will damage your computer.

This file was downloaded on an unknown date.

Report malware to apple to protect other users.

It has 2 options Show in folder and OK. But this pop-up screen wont close. I have tried several times by clicking both Show in folder and OK, but this pop-up screen won't close. What should i do ?

MacBook, macOS 10.15

Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode?


Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.

Workable but harder for me to work with...the Note tool on the bottom of this editor's toolbar, as shown in the image, to copy and paste the output from EtreCheck.

There is also free Malwarebytes which may take care of it...
