Buying a new iPad pro

Hi there, if I buy a new 12.9 iPad Pro 1tb. What is the model number? What generation is it? As it’s 2020 is it deemed a 2020 model?

what is the generation number of the iPad pro 12.9" that's just annonced? Gen 5? Hello, This will be my first Apple product so i'm not too sure of the model versions. I was looking at accessories for the new ipad pro that's just been annonced - some accessories state compatible with Gen 5 ipad pro. Is the generation number of the iPad pro 12.9" that's just been annonced a Gen 5? How to tell which generation is my ipad pro? I have an iPad Pro 12.9" bought sometime end 2017 or 2018 (can't recall). When I check settings, it gave me the model A1584. I can't find a descriptor for this model either so how do I tell which generation it is? Is there still hope to find a protective cover and even a pencil holder for it? thanks!

Apple released the new iPad Pro (2020) a few weeks ago. It will be labeled as the iPad Pro 12.9-inch (4th generation).
