Ethernet connector stops working at 100% charge!

I connected an apple usb ethernet connector via a powered camera connection kit to my ipad pro. It worked fine. But as the ipad charges and it reaches 100%, it stops working and says: ‘ accessory requires too much power’. Cannot get it to work until ipad is discharged. Tried with two different ipads, same issue... this is very annoying as the ipad is used for school work at home now and wifi is not good enough for using ms teams video fluently.
