How to connect Airpods to Zoom on Mac

I waited in queue with Zoom support for 2 hours but they were able to resolve my problem.

It looks like the Zoom folder under "Library"-> "Application Support"-> "Zoom" needs to be deleted then re-download Zoom. The support specialist said the folder was corrupted and just needed to be reset. I followed their instructions and now all my wireless headphones including my AirPod Pro's work on Zoom!

Edwin Pagan's video on setting up your AirPods with Zoom was helpful. You have to set your AirPods in the Zoom audio and speaker settings!

I have noticed that I need to connect the AirPods to my MacBook PRIOR to connecting to Zoom. Also, have to leave them in while on the Zoom call. If I remove one, or both, the sound screws up.

I believe (at least from my experience) that this issue started happening with the most recent Zoom update (so Zoom participants can't hear you, or you like very static-y). I would just recommend recommend contacting Zoom also: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us

Once you get on zoom, pull up the conference bridge info. Pair your AirPods with your phone, and dial into the conference bridge!

if you’re hearing an echo, go back to that screen, and it’ll give you a code to punch into your phone to pair phone as your audio!

I am having horrible trouble. My Air pods pro worked fine with my 3 yr old MacBook Pro running the OS before Catalina. My new MBP running Catalina does not like the air pods on Zoom or Skype. Sound from mic is static, undecipherable. I reset them, forget device, re-pair and sometimes they work for a very short time and then drop or turn to static again. Even sound to them will shut off using Zoom and switch to a different speaker. I’m at a complete loss. I bought them to be able to teach/record lectures using Zoom and so far can’t do it.

purchased AirPod pro to use with for Zoom calls with my MacBook Pro which is a year old. They don't work with Zoom. Does anyone have a work around. I've seen many ppl using them with Zoom. Would appreciate any help / ideas. Thank you.

i watched the video, changed setting on zoom on audio/microphone. but still on Zoom meeting messages about having Airpods

will be used goes on/off, and i was told by participants that i went mute/unmute non stop... i had to stop using them and went back my MacBook Pro built-in audio/mic. frustrating... anyone contacted Zoom on this issue?? 🙏🏻

thanks! but that’s what i did :( all connected before opening zoom app on macPro. i opened zoom preference and it was already connected automatically. did tests and all and flickering starts once i started hosting a meeting when ppl started joining...

What did Zoom or Zoom support site say?

Not an issue with your Mac or airpods since it works with everything else related to Apple.

If you have anything to say or influence about it, then use different conferencing software.

i’ll try different sequences/combos of restarting see if anything would go around the glitch. it’s annoying i bought the airpods pro just for the zoom meetings!! 😭
