no sound on macbook pro

I have a MacBook Pro that I purchased November 2019. It had been working fine until Apple did an update recently. NowI have no sound. I turned it all the way up and still no sound.

I've gone into System Preferences and then gone into sound and then into output. The balance is right in the middle of left and right. The output volume is as loud as it can go
