How do you delete Photo Albums on iPad Air last model

Being new with iPad, I looked for this answer and found some from 2015. I sys some photo's from my iMac running Catalina thru Finder. Worked great. Now I want to delete an Albums from the Photo program on iPad. I followed all the advise from Apple Support, opened Albums hit Select all and all 47 picture are marked ready. That is where the world stopped. I looked for the Trash button. Is none. Please provide a clear step by step on how to do it. I want to sys a new group of some of the same pictures that I edited on my Photo program on iMac and sys them onto iPad. I have iCloud shut off on my iPad, don't use it. My iPad is running on the current IOS .PLease respond to someone oldest to be your grandpa!
