Stop mac auto adjusting input microphone, volume too low

Having lots of Zoom meetings using my Mac's internal microphone and the volume auto adjusts too low. I tried System Pref > Sound > Input and slightly right but it keeps adjusting down so the other party can't hear me well. Every time I slight to the max they can hear me but it goes right back down again so I have to sit on it! I've seen lots about this issue but found no fix as yet. Help!

I have a Macbook Pro, Mojave 10.14.6

MacBook Pro 13", macOS 10.13

Thank you, hope I got it right. In the Zoom web portal, I left ON "Allow users to select original sound" but on the Zoom Client > "Audio" I unchecked the box "Auto adjust microphone volume".

Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities AnneUK77,

I see that you're having an issue with the volume auto adjusting when you use Zoom with your Mac. I'd be happy to provide you with some information to get you pointed in the right direction.

If this is only happening when you use Zoom, take a look at the information below on how to preserve the original sound when using Zoom. If the issue persists after adjusting these settings, you'd want to reach out to Zoom Support.
