Apple watch

My chosen watch face disappears and another face will pop up. Why? How can I get it back and get it to stay?

Delete the watch faces from the face gallery on the phone.

I tried to delete the watch faces that I don’t want to use but it is still on my watch face. I cannot get the watch face I want to display. Very frustrating!!!
