Apple TV Remote disconnect/not working

I've been having issues with my Apple TV remote connecting to my Apple TV 4K.

The remote works fine for about 1-2 months, then stops working. I've charged the remote (not sure how to tell if it is fully charged?), but doesn't work anymore.

I can control my Apple TV via my iPhone, just not the remote. I've reset the Apple TV remote a few times, but nothing...

2 simple questions -

  1. How do I tell my Apple TV remote is fully charged? Does it light up anywhere to show it's fully charged?
  2. Anything else I'm missing?

This is the second remote I've purchased, and need to find a solution -

1/ The charge level is indicated on the Apple TV screen in Settings, both as partially filled icon and as a percentage. There are no indicators on the remote itself. Charge your Siri Remote - Apple Support

2/ If it stopped working, then possibly it has lost its pairing. If your Apple TV remote isn’t working - Apple Support
