All Videos not downloading from iCloud

I used to save my photos on iCloud but recently got the iPhone 11 with a bigger memory. The problem is whenever I click on an old photo / video, it takes time to play.

After reading various support blogs, I selected the ‘keep originals on iphone’ option on icloud but it doesn’t seem to have made any difference. The old videos / photos still take time to download.

I want all my photos / videos to downloads fully on my iPhone so I can watch /edit whenever I want. what’s the quickest way to auto download them on this new phone.

Please help!

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It's my understanding that you'd like to download all videos and photos from iCloud to your new iPhone 11. You've come to the right place! I'm happy to help.

Once you've chosen to Download and Keep Originals in Settings, it can take some time for the the content to download depending on the size of the library and internet connection. Make sure you have a strong internet connection. If the issue persists, test the issue while connected to a different network.

If your photos still won't download, restart your iPhone. Restarting can resolve many unexpected behaviors.

Restart your iPhone
