My current Mac Pro can only go to Mojave, but the Mac Mini will take Catalina.
I would install a new SSD on the Mac Mini.
I'm wonder if my Mac Pro is still more powerful than the Mac Mini above even though it's under Mojave.

That's what I thought. It seems that the only advantage I would have with the mini is the ability to install Catalina, The Mac Pro only Mojave which runs fine.
I'll will set up the Mini Mac for the kids to do home work and will keep the Mac Pro as my personal computer.
