Night shift on external monitors doesn't work after sleep (MBP 16, 10.15.4)

I'm using the MacBook in clamshell mode. After sleep, the night shift doesn't work.

Any suggestions?

Night Shift requires that you use the built-in display on a Mac notebook or iMac, or a compatible external display. You can check compatibility here: How to use Night Shift on your Mac - Apple Support

If Night Shift isn't compatible with your display, you might want to use a third-party app to replicate the same functionality, like f.lux.
