Yes, there's nothing to worry about. There are no known methods to hack an iPhone remotely, and the messages you are getting about not being protected are scams normally, just ads trying to get you to download their apps. You can ignore them.

Your boyfriend is not hacking your iPohne, he may be accessing your Apple ID, if he can guess your password, but not hacking your iPhone.

As mentioned, then only known instance of an iPhone actually being hacked, was several years ago, when the FBI handed an phone to a company to access. It took them several weeks to accomplish with the iPhone in hand.

It would be 10000 times harder remotely.,

If you want to be absolutely sure take these steps.

  1. Put your iPhone in DFU mode (search for it to find helpful videos)
  2. Connect your computer to your router using an ethernet cable, not by WiFi.
  3. Restore your iPhone as a new device (do not use your backup).
  4. Use a random generated 6 digit passcode (you can find random number generators on the web).
  5. Use your computer and change your Apple ID to a phrase that no one else would recognize.
  6. Change all the passwords for sites you go to with your iPhone. Use Keychain to generate random strong ones.
  7. Do not give anyone your passwords
  8. Keep your phone within reach at all times. Do not loan it to anyone.

I know it’s my neighbors. I have documented medical conditions while they are needle junkies/dealers with a ‘ habit’ to feed and I don’t agree with selling toddlers on the dark web for more drugs. I went to the police who say hacking is out of their jurisdiction (but yet THEY can hack???) so I will wait for payday to have my phone checked out to track the hackers and have the report faxed to fbi.

Actually me ex boyfriend is in cell phone repair. He does mostly board repair and actually knows more than anyone I have ever spoken to at Apple. He hacks into my account on a daily basis. I have bought new phones, changed passwords, etc and he somehow always gets back in. If someone is smart enough, they can absolutely hack your phone. I’ve even taken it to the police and they cannot seem to do anything about it as well. Note to self Ladies....do NOT ever date anyone that is in cell phone repair 😂😂

My question is what are the necessary steps to check and verify that my phone hasn’t been tampered with or hacked.

Sorry. There is no "You've been hacked" checkbox that you can see.

Aside from phishing attempts and scam popups, what specific reason do you have to feel you've been tampered with?

If your iOS is up to date and your phone has never been "borrowed" by a neighbour or partner for an hour , it's not likely you've been anything'ed.

These are the necessary steps. Not sure what else to offer.

Once again you didn’t answer my question maybe my phone did disappear for a little bit how about that does that make you feel better to answering the question on what are the necessary steps to see if my device has been tampered with.....Like where would I go what kind of computer do I plug it in is there a special program that I need to go by and check it? This is so frustrating..

maybe my phone did disappear for a little bit how about that

Then you raised the risk of your phone being tampered with.

make you feel better to answering the question on what are the necessary steps to see if my device has been tampered with...

There are no definitive steps. None. That's the answer I gave you because it's accurate.

Deggie gave you steps to remove any modifications that may have happened.

But there still is no way to tell if you've been hacked. Which was your question that I answered.

A good hack is invisible. Undetectable. Leaves no marks.

Your anger at me is misguided.

For thought...

Consider the Following:

A. Clear Temporary Internet Files:

Clear your Temporary Internet Files(Cookies & Cache) of Safari:

Go Here: Clear the History and Cookies from Safari on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch - Apple Support

B. View Your Browsing History:

Look: at your browsing history — see if there is something in there that you did not visit. Anything look suspicious? Click on the Address Bar and see what pops up.

C. Confirm your Privacy is Set:

Go To: Settings > Privacy > remove unneeded apps from each item on the list.

D. Malwarebytes Mobile:

Get Malwarebytes Mobile for free at the App Store. It is created by longtime users of these forums, making it purely reliable for Apple devices. It is free. Note: The Paid Version, however, looks for spoofed Calls.
