My iPad will randomly beep continuously and will not stop for hours and when I check the lock screen, there are no notifications, what should I do?

First, before anything else, force-restart your iPad - as this often resolves isolated issues:

  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On an iPad with Face ID: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.

If the restart doesn’t help, the next step will be to ensure that you have an iCloud or iTunes backup, then start will progressively more invasive reset procedures:

1) Reset All Settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings)

2) Erase All Content & Settings (Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content & Settings)

3) Restore iPad to Factory Settings

Steps (2) and (3) allow you to restore your data from backup at the end of the process - however, you may ultimately find that the backup incorporates the very problem that you’re trying to resolve.

I hope your find this information to helpful in getting you on track to resolution.
