How to Verify the 6 Digit Number

I have two apple ids. Two phone numbers, one for the US and the other for The Bahamas. I need to change the phone number for one of the apple ids that use the Bahamas number. Is there way to change that number so I can verify the 6 digit number?

When I am in the US, I cannot us the the SIM card for the Bahamas. Is there an alternative way to make changes to an apple id's data?

Have you tried to change the number on your Apple ID? After the change, allow up to 24 hours for the change to sync. Before trying to make the change, sign out of Messages/FaceTime.

To make any changes, it continues to send a request for the 6 digit code sent to that number via Messenger. My main purpose is to restore an app that I bought and now want to reinstall on my MacBook Pro.
