charging IPhone 3G on a Sony AM/FM Clock Rado

I have finally resolved my issue with the the Sony Dream Machine. Unfortunately, the solution was to replace my iPhone4 with a new (refirbished) one. It works fine now with no issues or pop up messages.

This is definitely not a good introductory experience and will certainly dictate future purchases.

Always good to make major decisions on a single data point, ignoring the overall history of the company and product line.

Past performance is not a guarantee of future results. I have to base my descisions on my own personal experience, and in cases where absent, the experience of others. Judging by this thread, I was not alone in this issue.

The resolution for my issue was replacement of the phone, after multiple trip to the genius bar. So, it sounds like the issue was with the phone hardware, not the accessory, as the accessory has not changed. This being the case, I'm surprised it failed so soon, as I've not had the phone that long (5 months).

I had the same problem followed sancat's advice and placed my iPhone 3GS in the cradle and received the usual incompatible message then screwed the back knob pushing the iPhone out at an angle and it started to charge again and will play music. I left it screwed in that way and can pull out my iPhone and place it back in the cradle seems to be working fine. If I screw the knob back out I get the incompatible message again. Hope this works for you. Will see if it still works on my iPhone 4s next week.
