Yesterday, I hadn’t used my phone all day it was just sitting on the floor charging. Towards the end of the day, I went to check my messages and it had sent a bunch of random things to random people and it really confused them. It said a bunch or things I would never say. I was super confused on what was going on and I think it may have been hacked. Does anyone know how this happened?

I think someone is accessing your email and that you Apple ID is compromised. I have seen this sort of thing happen to several people. See:
