icloud photo library onto hard drive

I want my icloud photos library on my actual hard drive. I can access them in iCloud from my computer, but they're streaming from the cloud, not from my hard drive. How do I do that without downloading them all individually?

Turn on the "Download originals" option in Photos Preferences - iCloud. See the following from Set up and use iCloud Photos - Apple Support

On your Mac:

  1. Open the Photos app and click Photos in the menu bar.
  2. Click Preferences.
  3. Go to the iCloud tab and choose a storage setting.

...

If you turn on Download Originals, iCloud Photos keeps your original, full-resolution photos and videos in iCloud and on your device.
