I have a message that says ipad is disabled connect to itunes. I have been trying to connect to itunes with no success

my ipad says disabled connect to iTunes. I have been trying to connect but it wont do it

Are you using the instructions in If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple Support
