High CPU Usage 300%+. Particular website at fault.

High CPU Usage (> 300%) on specific Safari Tab. Likely problem with website as similar behaviour observed on Chrome. Though technically that simply means that both Chrome and Safari have a likely related bug. MenuMeters says com.Apple.Webkit is going nuts, Activity Monitor lists the website's name. What's going on?

I've encountered the same problem before, having a certain program that is taking up large amounts of CPU usage.

Another Apple Community user told me to download Malawarebytes, which is a safe virus-scanning and virus-killing software. Your computer may have some sort of software problem which is caused by foreign systems, and a virus sweep may remove it. I've already used Malwarebytes and it completely solved my problem, my computer has been running without this problem for nearly a year. Hope this can solve your problem too!

In addition to downloading Malawarebytes, clear your browser data. In Safari, go to Preferences, and select Privacy. Then press "Manage Website Data". Select the website data you want to clear (I would recommend the ones that you don't recognize or don't use frequently, and of course, the one you have problems with) (you will have to do this one by one) and then click "Remove". If you want to remove all data, then click "Remove All". Just a reminder that this clearing may affect some of your websites, but this only will happen occasionally.

Hope this can solve your problem too!
