Some of the UI in this world refer to BT devices by their MAC address, some refer to them by more or less descriptive name (set by manufacturer, or BT device UI). MacOS Settings > Bluetooth lists devices by their non-unique names, but seems to hide BT addresses (hex). I'd need them both visible.

Isn't that the same data as displayed via Apple / About This Mac / System Report / Bluetooth. (or is that just on Mojave not High Sierra)

Yes, I knew that, but I interpreted your initial post as requesting the bluetooth information to be altered in Apple's Bluetooth preferences visuals — not as information obtained from Terminal.
