iMac (Catalina 10.15.4) broke FaceTime with iPad 2 iOS 9 with elderly family during pandemic

According to internet forums, by upgrading my iMac to Catalina 10.15.4, this is the culprit which has broken my ability to FaceTime with an iPad 2 on iOS 9.3.5 used by senior citizens in my family - especially unfortunate timing during a pandemic when we're self-isolating from fmaily and trying to maintain some semblance of contact. Can it be confirmed devs are working on a patch or will users of these older devices and versions of iOS be left to deal with it. Some people do not have the budget to simply buy a newer iPad or other device.

I have found a workaround by Facetiming from a partition running MacOS Mojave and still have no Facetime problems connecting to iPad iOS 9.3.5 that way.

Would prefer to maintain my workflow on Catalina whilst Facetiming though.

Thanks for alerting me to this fix Malcolm. I installed the supplemental update today and tested Facetime from a 10.15.4 Mac to an iPad 2 running iOS 9.3.5, and happy to report the connection worked and I can once more videoconf with elderly and remote family whilst in the throes of this pandemic. Best wishes and all good health to you in this situation. Sherbs.
